Millions and Billions Muh, Muh, Millions Click Here to Listen -- Once the audio clip starts, minimize it so you can see the words at the same time. Carol's Comments: This is a very simple rhythm to help a child figure out if they're working with a number in the millions or the billions. My daughter struggled with this basic concept for too long. Enter, the simple ditty. As they say "Muh, Muh", they slide a simple line under the groupings of numbers. For example: "Muh" (put a line under the ones, tens & hundreds), "Muh" (put another line under the group where the places represent thousands, ten thousands and hundred thousand). Yeah...I know, I know. Right about now you're all saying "Carol really needs how to figure out the basic VIDEO clip. I hope to soon. In the mean time... When the child gets to the word "Millions" they then box in the next group of number. Any number that starts IN THAT BOX must be in the millions, ten millions or hundred millions. It works. Kids get it right away. |
