Pilgrims Land In Sixteen and Twenty, the Pilgrims they came; Click Here to Listen -- Once the audio clip starts, minimize it so you can see the words at the same time. Carol's Comments: This little ditty is packed with information worth remembering. The year is front and center, but soon also is the name of their ship and the purpose of their journey. Unlike the entrepreneurial group of Jamestown (1607) these folks were about faith. After some consternation aboard ship on how this new world would be governed, they eventually got together (both the pilgrims and those fortune seekers who had joined the ship back in England) the 41 men (note: not women) signed this first agreement, and elected themselves a Governor. |
